The Col. Tench Tilghman Chapter will be holding their meeting on November 14, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Heron Point Community Center, Chestertown, MD.

Veterans DAY COMMEMORATION

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 14  11:00 AT HERON POINT

Compatriot “Sandy” Hoon has arranged and will be resident host for our November meeting in the Administrative Building and Restaurant at "Heron Point of Chestertown". Luncheon (see below) reservations must be made in advance of Nov 7 by mailing a $15 check made to:

Compatriot Alexander Hoon, 501 E. Campus, Unit 247, Chestertown, MD 21620.

If you have questions, please call him at 410-778-4692. Thank you very much.

11:00  CHAPTER MEETING

We will conduct a Chapter business meeting to review committee activity, discuss future meetings and dates, and nominate an American Flag Award candidate for 2015-16.

Like our Revolutionary ancestors, please volunteer a few hours per year in topic areas listed in the meeting agenda (over). All members contributing a little time not only enrich the Chapter, but more evenly distribute the efforts for the whole Chapter. Also, if you wish to report an activity but cannot attend, please contact our editor at the Newsletter cover address or atwdtewes@gmail.com                              Thank you

12:00  LUNCHEON

All SAR members are encouraged to invite their wives or a guest to the luncheon and speaker presentation. The luncheon will be similar to the past, with a soup or salad, a choice of sandwiches with a side, beverages and deserts for $15. Wine & beer are available for $2.

1:00 “Vice Presidents of our United States” Dr. Conway Gregory

Dr. Gregory is a former professor of history and currently Secretary of our Col. Tench Tilghman Chapter, MDSSAR. He will help us re-discover the second highest elected office in our country. Until the 1960s, the Vice Presidents were the forgotten fifth wheel of government with one leg in the legislative branch and the other in the executive branch.

Who were the men who occupied the Office of Oblivion?

Come find out on November 14th!

Event Date:

Saturday, November 14, 2015 - 11:00 to Sunday, November 15, 2015 - 10:45
