Welcome back to a reinvigorated Col. Tench Tilghman Chapter of the MDSSAR. As you well know, we have been inactive for the past three years. The inactivity, however, ends on Saturday, November 13, 2021 when we hold our first quarterly meeting at Heron Point of Chestertown.
Secretary Col. Walter Coryell has graciously arranged for our November 13th meeting in the Administrative Building and Restaurant at "Heron Point of Chestertown".
While the world pandemic continues to be an aggravating problem, it will not prevent us from meeting but will require some adjustments. Per their website, Heron Point is a “senior community” and will only allow those who have been fully vaccinated to be on their premises and while on the premises, you must wear a face mask. Please also bring your vaccination passport card with you. Please contact Dr. Warren Tewes at email@example.com by Tuesday, November 9th to RSVP, and let him know how many will be attending with you.
I hope each one of you will attend this November meeting. Heron Point is a beautiful location and November is a nice time to journey to Chestertown. Please bring your wife or partner and any family or friends and especially any potential new members with you, who meet the Heron Point requirements concerning the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. The more people in attendance for our meeting, the merrier it will be.
The business meeting portion of the program will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the restaurant where we always conduct our meetings. Please arrive prior to 11:00 to socialize, “ante-up” your luncheon cost + place your order with Col. Coryell and, especially in consideration for our brief time to meet.
This will be followed by a nice lunch with cherry pie included, and all for just $15.00 per person (correct change appreciated). Following lunch, a guest speaker will address us on a topic related to the American Revolution. We should conclude our meeting by 2:00 or earlier, so you can enjoy the rest of the day either exploring historic Chestertown or another one of the Eastern Shore's many beautiful locations.
As a sidebar note, the Maryland SAR website has user friendly folders tabs of News, Events, Photo Gallery, Programs (which correspond to many of our chapter committees), membership, and more. Please view these as reference for assistance in chapter activities. The address is MDSSAR.org
I look forward to seeing you at Heron Point on November 13th.
Dr. Conway Gregory, Chapter President
