The German-American community in Maryland takes great pride in General de Kalb who was born in what is now Bavaria. He led a division of the troops from the Maryland and Delaware Lines at the Battle of Camden, where he suffered wounds that killed him. Please hold the date, additional details will come later.

The book review notes and includes a photograph of the statue of de Kalb in Annapolis. The German Society of Maryland holds a memorial ceremony in Annapolis to honor General de Kalb.

The date of the next ceremony has not been announced but it would be fitting for members of the Maryland Sons of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Society of the Cincinnati to attend.
