1812 Society Cannon Firing

Ft. McHenry has reported that the two new cannons ordered by the MD Society War of the 1812 are scheduled to arrive on Monday!  The firing of the guns will be on Thursday. Plan to come around 1:40pm for a private showing and firing.  We will walk up to the gun deck and the Daughter and Son will be fired. Should literally be a blast.

Please come join us for this event. It has been your donations that made this possible and these cannons will long outlast us.

As chairman of the MDSSAR’s CAR/DAR/SAR Committee I am pleased to report that both the Maryland DAR and CAR are very active.  You recently received from me the DAR’s newsletter and here is the CAR version – see the link below.  The CAR in Maryland receives the majority of its senior support from the Maryland DAR, and it needs our SAR support.  Unfortunately, except for Christos and King, it receives very little real-time assistance from us men.  Please get involved if you are able.  You can see me for more information since I am also the senior chairman of the CAR’s SAR Liaison Committee.
