The Sergeant Lawrence Everhart Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) presented the SAR’s coveted Eagle Scout Award to four Scouts in Kemptown, Maryland Boy Scout Troop 1023 in ceremonies at Saint Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church in Ijamsville earlier this month.
Sergeant Lawrence Everhart SAR Chapter Represented at Vietnam Veterans' Day Proclamation Ceremonies
Compatriots of the Sergeant Lawrence Everhart Chapter participated in ceremonies at Frederick City Hall at which Frederick Mayor Randy McClement and the City of Frederick Aldermen proclaimed March 30, 2016 as "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans' Day". Participating in the ceremonies were SAR Chapter President Donald Deering, Vice President Pat Barron, Immediate Past President George Lewis, and Compatriots Ron Harbaugh and Larry Bishop.
The Frederick Town Fife and Drum (FTFD) is Recruiting Boys and Girls Ages 11-19. This Revolutionary War based musical ensemble is dedicated to preserving the historic art of fifing and drumming at live performances, parades, historical celebrations, concerts and civic events. Like Colonial Williamsburg’s fifes and drums, Fredrick’s uniformed corps, are drawing and entertaining new and repeat visitors to our county and Frederick City’s bustling downtown area.
The Sergeant Lawrence Everhart Chapter of the Maryland Society of Sons of the American Revolution recently honored Criswell Chevrolet of Thurmont with the Flag Certificate of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, in recognition of exemplary patriotism in the display of the United States flag. Criswell Chevrolet was selected for this honor for its highly visable display of the flag, consistent with the United States Flag Code.
