Please make note and save the date for our 41th Annual Dinner to be held on November 11, 2017.  Fitting as this date is Veteran’s Day this year.  This will be an evening dinner at a local restaurant with spouses welcome.  Details will be forthcoming.

 

History of the Col. Aquila Hall Chapter

The Colonel Aquila Hall Chapter was first organized and chartered on September 10, 1920, primarily through the efforts of the Honorable James H. Preston of Baltimore and the Honorable Walter Preston of Bel Air. It was the first Chapter in the State of Maryland, but soon fell inactive. Efforts by Armard V. Motsinger in 1968 to bring it back were unsuccessful.

When: Sunday, April 9th, at 1:30 PM

Where: Historical Society of Harford County, 143 N. Main St., Bel Air. 

  

This is an important meeting as new officers will be installed.  Proposed slate of officers for the upcoming 2017-2018 year.

Please save September 17th for our summer Chapter Meeting.  Past President Lou Raborg and his wife, Becky, have graciously offered to host the event at their home.  Our current Chapter President is also extending the invitation to the two DAR Chapters and the Bush Declaration CAR Society so this has the potential for a good turnout.  If you haven’t been able to attend a meeting lately, this is the one you should try not to miss.

Col. Aquila Hall Chapter Featured in the Bel Air Fourth of July Parade

The Col. Aquila Hall Chapter helped man the DAR chapter float in the Bel Air Parade.  There was a light sprinkle until the heavens opened up just as we got under way. The spectators were more prepared than we were. We received much applause and the children loved the canon manned by 3rd VP Tim Mallory and Leda Behseresht as Molly Pitcher.  Barbara Adams was Betsy Ross.  Dave Hoover, Chris Smithson and Lou Raborg marched in front escorting the DAR banner carriers.  State president William Smithson stayed relatively dry, driving the truck.

Col. Aquila Hall Chapter: Aberdeen Ironbirds Baseball Game

Join Col. Aquila Hall Chapter as we take the field at Ripken Stadium, Aberdeen, Maryland

 

Tickets Cost: $13.50 per person (Seats are front three rows behind Ironbirds dugout) Arrive early! All fans receive a FREE Ironbirds ballcap. Help us promote Sons of the American Revolution. Our organization will perform in the Opening Ceremonies, Presentation of the Colours, and have our name on the Jumbo-Tron scoreboard during the 7th Inning Stretch. Chartered in 1976, Col. Aquila Hall Chapter is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Please join us at the ballpark!
